Aurora Impact Foundation CEO Shannon Smadella to Join PMI Leadership Panel on Inclusive Leadership and Changing the Status Quo
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, May 15, 2026 — Aurora Impact Foundation is pleased to announce that Founder and CEO Shannon Smadella, MBA, will join a Project Management Institute leadership panel exploring how inclusive, accountable, and human-centred leadership can challenge the status quo and strengthen project outcomes.
The panel, Leadership: The Power to Change the Status Quo, brings together leaders from project management, engineering, environmental consulting, diversity and inclusion, and social impact to examine how leadership behaviours, team dynamics, representation, and lived experience shape engagement, decision-making, and performance.
Smadella will be joined by Nancy Dionne, P.Eng., Founder of INSITE Project Consulting Inc.; Erica Gray, Senior Project Manager and Team Lead at Cambium Inc.; and Trevor Mayoh, Diversity and Inclusion Consultant.
Smadella’s participation reflects Aurora Impact Foundation’s broader focus on women’s leadership, human rights, ethical governance, psychological safety, and systems-level change. Her work examines how leaders can move beyond traditional models of authority and build environments where people, teams, and communities are better supported to thrive.
“Changing the status quo requires more than new tools or better processes. It requires leaders who are willing to examine the cultures, power dynamics, and assumptions shaping their teams,” said Shannon Smadella, Founder and CEO of Aurora Impact Foundation. “Inclusive leadership is not a soft skill. It is a strategic capability that influences trust, engagement, performance, and long-term impact.”
